Overview

Deccan Odyssey - Maharashtra Splendor offers a great opportunity to experience Royal luxurious journey on wheels and explore the prominent major tourist destinations in Incredible India in a 8 days tour programme. 

The prime travel attractions covering Kolhapur, Goa, Aurangabad, Ajanta and Ellora caves, Nashik and Sindhudurg are very well crafted in the tour itinerary, so that guests make their journey enjoyable and memorable for a lifetime experience. 

Enjoy the luxurious amenities included onboard such as delicious cuisines, spa, delectable and other more interesting activities.
Itinerary
All guests are requested to arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus by 1530 hours to fulfill their check in and registration formalities, before boarding the luxury train.

Welcome in an Indian traditional style by the luxury train staff followed by a refreshing drink on arrival, while boarding the train and briefing session.  

Then your deluxe cabins were allotted and settled in your impressive cabins, as the train leaves to our first destination Nashik.

Delicious dinner and overnight stay onboard at luxury Deccan Odyssey.
Train reaches Nashik, enjoys breakfast then proceeds to visit Godavari Ghat. 

Experience holy rituals being performed while taking a walk along the Godavari Ghat. 
Along the ghat explore the local markets which have everything including fresh vegetables, pulses, lentils and seafood.

Visit Grover Zampa Vineyards, explore the finest brands of wine made through 'méthode traditionnelle' along the vines laden with Chenin, Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes which serves the best Indian wine. Later, Wine lovers enjoy a variety of wines such as white, rose, red and sparkling wines served with their lunch at vineyards.

Delicious dinner and overnight stay onboard, as the luxury train leaves for next destination, Aurangabad.
Third day is all set for exploring Aurangabad, the city is named after the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. 

Enjoy breakfast on board. 

Later proceed for Ellora Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site) approx 30 km away from the main city. Explore 12 Buddhist, 17 Hindu and 5 Jain caves. The most important attraction of Ellora is a holy shrine devoted to Lord Shiva, Kailasa temple. The structure of the temple represents Mount Kailash, the Abode of Lord Shiva.

Return to the luxury Deccan Odyssey and enjoy lunch onboard as the train crosses through the rural landscapes. 

Evening relax and enjoy the cocktails. Dinner and night stay onboard, as the luxury train proceeds for Jalgaon. 
Today the train reaches Jalgaon railway station. Enjoy breakfast and proceed to Ajanta Caves, UNESCO World Heritage Site. The caves are known for their architectural designs. The designs also depict a blend of Hindu and Buddhist faith.

Return to the train and enjoy a delicious lunch as Deccan Odyssey progresses towards the next city, Kolhapur. 

Rest of the free for leisure, you can enjoy the amenities of the luxury train or you may enjoy rejuvenating massage in the spa.

Dinner and night stay onboard.
Enjoy breakfast and relax for a couple of hours on the train.

Post early lunch, proceed for a sightseeing tour in Kolhapur.

Visit the New Palace Museum and Town Hall Museum. Later, stroll around the lively markets of the city. Kolhapuri Chappals (footwears) are very popular in all over India.

Enjoy a sip of high tea and watch the special folk performance Lavanya Sandhya.

Then visit Mahalaxmi temple, dedicated to Goddess Shakti.

Vsit Mardani Khel, a traditional martial art performance. 

Evening return back to the luxury train. Dinner and overnight stay onboard the train, as the train proceeds to its next destination Goa.
Post breakfast proceeds for the Goa sightseeing tour.

Drive to Fontainhas, a UNESCO World heritage walk around the Fontainhas, constructed in Portuguese style and home to some well-preserved buildings. 

Proceed for Ribandar, where you get to visit ancient churches and the ruins of St. Augustine Tower. 

Enjoy a traditional Goan feast, the meals are complemented by the popular Goan drink Feni, liquor prepared from cashew.

Watch a Goan folk performance, make a plantation-visit and later, visit an ancient Portuguese building to get a glimpse of Goan culture and tradition. 

Return back to the luxury train, as it progresses for Ratnagiri. Dinner and night stay on the luxury train.
Enjoy breakfast on board. 

Later, disembark for exploring the holy town of Sindhudurg.

After lunch on-board, the second half of sightseeing at Sindhudurg. 

Evening returns back to the train for a royal dinner, as the train starts its journey back to Mumbai.
Last day of the journey, enjoy breakfast and disembark the train at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station in Mumbai. 

As reaching Mumbai marks the completion of your Maharashtra Splendor journey with sweet memories.

  • Presidential Suite can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (Applicable for Children below 12 years). 
  • 5% GST (Govt. Tax) additional. 
  • Prices are subject to change incase of price hikes such as fuel, taxes etc.
  • Child rates are applicable from 6 to 12 years.

    Child Policy
  • One child up to 5 years of age shall be allowed free of cost in the Deluxe Cabin, subject to sharing of double bed with parents. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking. 
  • For families, with a child between 6-12 years of age, or, with two children with one child below 5 years and another between 6-12 years, we recommend the Presidential Suite which has a double bed in the bedroom and can be shared with a child below 5 years and a sofa cum bed in the living room which can accommodate the older child. In this case, the child/children will be accommodated free of cost. 
  • In case of two children between 6-12 years of age travelling with their parents, you will have to take 2 cabins. The first child pays 25% of the adult fare and the second child will have to pay 50% of the adult fare. One of the parents will have to be present with the child / children in the cabin.
  • Please note that we do not have the facility for interconnecting cabins. 
  • All applicable taxes will be charged extra.

    Booking Policy
  • Pay 20% of ticket value at the time of booking confirmation.
  • Balance 80% of the ticket value is to be paid 45 days before departure.

    Cancellation Policy 
  • Any cancellation must be advised immediately by Email.
  • If the cancellation is made 60 days prior to departure, no cancellation charges. 
  • 20% of ticket value 45-59 days prior to departure. 
  • 50% of ticket value 30-44 days prior to departure. 
  • 100% ticket value will be retained, if cancelled 29 days prior to commencement of Train journey.
