Overview

Jewels of the Deccan, Deccan Odyssey journey is for 8 days and 7 nights, proceeds from Mumbai and covers popular tourist destinations of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. 

The Deccan region of Incredible India is home to a large number of heritage sites, cave temples, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and a variety of flora and fauna. The itinerary given below is a lifetime experience to explore India. 
Itinerary
Journey proceeds from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in the early evening around 15:30 hours with the registration process. 

After all the check-in formalities for your Deccan luxury train journey, enjoy a traditional welcome in Indian style, with a refreshing welcome drink.

Board the train at your beautiful cabins, and the train departs for the first destination- Bijapur, Karnataka.

Dinner on board. Night stay on a luxury train.
Enjoy delicious breakfast as the train reaches Bijapur.

Bijapur is the historic capital of the Sultans of Deccan, with famous palaces, mosques and monuments, it was established during 10th and 11th centuries by the Kalyani Chalukyas. 

Later, disembark for your Bijapur sightseeing tour. Visit the Jumma Masjid, one of the first mosques of India and then visit Malik-e-Maidan, the largest medieval cannon in the world. 

Then visit Gol Gumbaz, the second largest tomb in the world. The key attraction of the mausoleum is a circular gallery where a little whisper gets magnified.

Visit Mehtar Mahal, a 17th century ornamental gateway to a mosque. 

Return to the train for a delicious lunch. 

Train departs for Aihole & Pattadakal. Evening free for leisure activities in the Deccan Odyssey as the train moves through the Deccan plateau.

Dinner onboard. Night stay on the train.
After morning breakfast, proceed to visit Pattadakal, which is popular for its architectural style which features a combination of South Indian (Dravidian) and North Indian (Nagara) architectural forms. 

Return to the train to enjoy lunch.

After lunch, (optional tour) to go for a sightseeing tour of Guledgudda, a beautiful weaving village well-known for its hand and power looms of ilkal and khann. Pick up some souvenirs from the village or you can also visit the rock cut caves and sculptured temples of Badami.

Return back for the luxury train and enjoy dinner as the train proceeds for Hampi.

Night stay in a luxury train.
Enjoy breakfast, then proceed to visit Hampi - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, well-known for its spectacular architecture, sculptures and its historical significance. 

Later, visit Mustard Ganesh, situated at the base of the Hemakuta hills, is a sacred place in Hampi which has a statue of Lord Ganesh. 

Virupaksha temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. 

Return back to Hospet for a delicious lunch on the luxury train.

Then, visit the Royal Center at Hampi. It was the fort of the Vijayanagara kings, visiting the Queens Bath, the Stepped Tank, the Mahanavami Dibba. Also visit the Queens Enclosure which has a Lotus Mahal and Elephant stables.

Return back to Hospet station to board the train and enjoy your dinner. As the train leaves for the next destination, Hyderabad.

Night on a luxury train.
Morning the train reaches the city of Biryanis, Hyderabad. The city is famous for preserving the rich heritage and culture of India. Hyderabad is a perfect stop for foodies. 

Enjoy breakfast, disembark and proceed towards Golconda, the epitome of Nizami culture and grandeur. 

Return back to the luxury Deccan Odyssey for a delicious lunch.

(Optional) shopping tour of Hyderabad.

After lunch, visit Falaknuma Palace. One of the finest palaces of Hyderabad.

Enjoy a tour of this beautiful palace and follow it with high tea. 

Later, one of the most popular structures of India, Charminar stands tall at the heart of the city. 

Return back to the luxury train for delicious dinner, as the Deccan Odyssey leaves for Aurangabad. Night stay on the train.
Today, as per the itinerary, we arrived at Aurangabad. Enjoy delicious breakfast onboard. 
Later, drive to the Ellora Caves, carved onto the side of a basaltic hill. The caves are considered one of the finest examples of cave-temple architecture in India. There are 12 Buddhist caves to the south, 17 Hindu caves in the centre and the 5 Jain caves to the north. 

Delicious lunch onboard the train. Rest of the day is free for leisure.  

Enjoy delicious dinner onboard and take some rest as the train leaves for Jalgaon where you get to visit the exquisite Ajanta Caves.

Return to the train for dinner, as it leaves for Aurangabad.

Night stay on train.
Today morning, the train arrived at the Jalgaon station. Enjoy breakfast onboard and then leave for the Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

Enjoy lunch onboard the luxury train.

Later, visit the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.

Enjoy the evening while watching the colors of rural India and sipping your favorite sundowner. 

Dinner onboard as the train leaves for Mumbai. Night stay on the train.
Enjoy breakfast early in the morning and then get down at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai with sweet memories, where the Deccan Odyssey journey completes.

  • Presidential Suite can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (Applicable for Children below 12 years). 
  • 5% GST (Govt. Tax) additional. 
  • Prices are subject to change incase of price hikes such as fuel, taxes etc.
  • Child rates are applicable from 6 to 12 years.

    Child Policy
  • One child up to 5 years of age shall be allowed free of cost in the Deluxe Cabin, subject to sharing of double bed with parents. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.
  • For families, with a child between 6-12 years of age, or, with two children with one child below 5 years and another between 6-12 years, we recommend the Presidential Suite which has a double bed in the bedroom and can be shared with a child below 5 years and a sofa cum bed in the living room which can accommodate the older child. In this case, the child/children will be accommodated free of cost. 
  • In case of two children between 6-12 years of age travelling with their parents, you will have to take 2 cabins. The first child pays 25% of the adult fare and the second child will have to pay 50% of the adult fare. One of the parents will have to be present with the child / children in the cabin.
  • Please note that we do not have the facility for interconnecting cabins.
  • All applicable taxes will be charged extra.

    Booking Policy
  • Pay 20% of ticket value at the time of booking confirmation.
  • Balance 80% of the ticket value is to be paid 45 days before departure.

    Cancellation Policy
  • Any cancellation must be advised immediately by Email.
  • If the cancellation is made 60 days prior to departure, no cancellation charges.
  • 20% of ticket value 45-59 days prior to departure.
  • 50% of ticket value 30-44 days prior to departure.
  • 100% ticket value will be retained, if cancelled 29 days prior to commencement of Train journey.
