Itinerary

On the first day of your Golden Triangle and Shimla Tour, you will be received at the airport by Cosmovision representatives after which they will assist you in checking in to the hotel.

For the rest of the day, you can spend it at your own will. Rest for the whole day in the hotel or go visit the streets of Delhi and explore the place yourself.

After that, stay for the night in the hotel.
On the second day of your Golden Triangle with Shimla Tour, the tour departs towards the city of Delhi for a sightseeing tour. It will surely be an amazing day, with a lot of adventures and amazing memories.

You will be seeing some of the most iconic locations in Delhi, such as the India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid among others.

The first place that you’ll be going to is the Laxmi Narayan Temple, also known as the Birla Mandir. It is a Hindu temple and it houses the deity Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. Both of them are really important Gods in the Hindu culture and religion. Pray there for your loved ones and move to the next destination, which is the parliament house, also known as the ‘Sansad Bhawan’. It is the place where all the elected lawmakers of India sit and discuss important bills. It is a historical building as far as India’s modern history goes.

The next place to visit will be the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, also known as the Raj Ghat. It is the final resting place of Mahatma Gandhi. The black marble complex which is put up in the middle is the actual place of Gandhiji. It is surrounded by green grass and trees that were planted by famous personalities such as US President and World War 2 leader Eisenhower and Queen Elizabeth II.

Now, drive to the Old Delhi region to explore the magnanimous Red Fort, otherwise called Lal Quila. Made of red sandstone, it was built somewhere close to the era of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It is still an important place from where the Prime Minister of India hoists the Indian flag on every Independence Day of India.

Following this is the visit to the greatest mosque of India, the Jama Masjid. It was raised in the sixteenth century by Shah Jahan. This sandstone and white marble structure can hold around 25000 people at one time.

The tour goes towards Qutub Minar now. Qutub Minar, which is situated in the south part of Delhi is the biggest brick minaret in the world. This UN World Heritage Site is going to mesmerize you.

While sightseeing, you will also be able to shop in the streets of Delhi all along. The Qutub Minar is a great example of Afghan Architecture.

Now as your tour guide assisted excursion in the streets of Delhi is over, go to your hotel for the night and stay there tonight.
On the morning of the third day of your Golden Triangle and Shimla Tour, you will be departing towards the city of Agra via roadways.

As soon as you reach the beautiful city of Agra, you will be assisted in a check in to your hotel, where the tour will rest for a while.

After the rest, the tour departs towards an amazing sightseeing tour of Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal. Interestingly enough, the first and foremost places the tour will visit is going to be the Taj Mahal! The Taj Mahal is the first among the seven wonders of the world. This heavenly monument, which has been made out of white marble, is actually a mausoleum. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The emperor loved his wife very much, and when she died in childbirth, he became depressed and wanted to give his wife the greatest of all resting places.

After the tour has seen the Taj Mahal, the next place the tour would be going for sightseeing is the Agra fort. This fort resembles Delhi’s Red fort a lot. It was also a Mughal residence before the capital shifted to Delhi.

From here, visit the Tomb of Itimad-Ud-Daulah, also known as the ‘Baby Taj' due to its striking similarities with the Taj Mahal.

Have an overnight stay at the hotel.
On the fourth day of your Golden Triangle Tour with Shimla, head on towards the city of Jaipur, also known as the ‘Pink City’.

On the way to Jaipur, the tour would be making a quick stop at the city of Fatehpur Sikri, which is an amazingly historic site. The city was ordered to be constructed by Emperor Akbar of the Mughal dynasty to commemorate his victories in the province of Gujarat. He made it the capital of his empire in India.

But unfortunately, it had to be abandoned later due to excessive water scarcity. Today, the city lies in rubble.

There are a lot of places for you to visit Fatehpur Sikri. First and foremost, be ready to be greeted by the ‘Buland Darwaza' or the ‘Mega Gateway'. This magnanimous arched gateway was constructed on the orders of Akbar to commemorate his victory in the province of Gujarat. The height of Buland Darwaza is about 55 meters.

Other than this, there are also other places for you to explore here. There is also the huge Jama Masjid and there is also the tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti. Birbal’s Palace, Mariam-uz-Zamani's Palace and Panch Mahal are some of the other places you can visit here. Do not forget to visit the Jodha's palace. Jodha was the beautiful queen of Emperor Akbar, and her palace is something which you must see.

After you have completed your exploration of Fatehpur Sikri, get back on the road until you reach Jaipur.

After reaching Jaipur, you will have an assisted check in to a hotel where the tour will be staying for the night.
The sightseeing on the fifth day of your Golden Triangle with Shimla Tour will be the city of Jaipur.

The city of Jaipur is also known as ‘Pink City’ for its pink colored heritage buildings. Jaipur is also the biggest city in the state of Rajasthan, and its capital too.

After you are done with your breakfast, head towards the beautiful Amber fort, which is about 11 kilometers away from the main city. The palace is situated near the Maota Lake and makes up for a beautiful view.

In the morning hours, you can also enjoy the lovely elephant rides outside the palace. You will be getting to click some of the most beautiful photographs of the city from the Amber palace.

The City Palace complex, the place where the Royal family of Jaipur still lives. Here, you will find some amazingly beautiful architecture, which will be a mix of Rajput and Mughal construction. There are a lot of different palace complexes to look at, such as the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal. Also have a look at some of the very best historical artefacts from the medical times.

There is also a museum of sorts where you can find some amazing medical weapons which were used by the Rajputs in battle. From here, visit the royal astronomical observatory, Jantar Mantar. It is actually a collection of different scientific instruments which was built by the king of Jaipur. There are a lot of different astronomical instruments that you can see.

Interestingly enough, the king of Jaipur also built the Jantar Mantar that is situated in Delhi. As evening approaches, the best thing to do is to visit the hustling and bustling markets on the streets of Jaipur.

Either head on towards Bapu Bazaar where you can buy traditional Rajasthani clothes and handicraft items, or go on towards the Johari Bazaar, which is a world famous market for traditional Rajasthani jewellery that consists of intricate designing and hand work.

Also go to the M.I Road and enjoy some more by shopping before going to the hotel for the night.
On the sixth day of your Golden Triangle and Shimla Tour, you will be leaving for Delhi by road.

As soon as you reach Delhi, you will again be checking in a hotel. After checking in, you can choose to spend the day on your own leisure. But the thing which we would recommend you to do is a little bit of exploration in the streets of Delhi.

The best place to do that would be the Connaught Place. It is one of the prime markets of Delhi, where you could find some of the best places to eat in the city of Delhi. There are also a lot of places around Connaught Place where you can do some shopping.

After you are done tasting all the gourmet street food and shopping for your loved ones, you can explore the streets of the city some more before returning to your hotel so that you can stay for the night there.
As soon as you finish your breakfast on your Golden Triangle Tour with Shimla, you will be heading outside towards the Kalka Railway Station

From Kalka, a train will arrive that will be taking the tour to the lovely hill station of Shimla. It might sound like an average and a boring train journey, but it would be anything but boring. That is because at Kalka, you will be boarding the world famous Toy Train. The Toy Train is an official World Heritage Site, and is an amazing ride which has specially been created for tourists who come to visit the country.

The train passes through 102 tunnels, and passes through some of the most beautiful natural places of the Himalayan ranges. The train slowly strolls through the mountains and the meadows whilst taking you to the city of Shimla, and takes about five hours to reach Shimla. It seems like a long journey, but it will surely be an experience which you will remember.

Besides, you will be seeing India in a totally different light, with all its natural beauty at its peak.

After you reach Shimla, go towards the hotel and check in. After that, spend your time at your own leisure.

Either rest and recuperate your energy or explore Shimla a little.

At night, stay in the hotel.
The eighth day of your Golden Triangle with Shimla Tour will be spent in exploring the beautiful city of Shimla.

The city is full of natural beauty and architectural wonders which you would love. Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh, and it was a colonial heaven back in the days when India was under the British rule. Due to this, you will find a lot of British influence on its architecture.

The first place to visit would be the famous Botanical Gardens of Shimla. It has been there since the times of the British rule, and was the residence of the Viceroy. The gardens are located on observatory Hills and are surrounded by well-maintained gardens and lawns, ringed by beautiful pine trees and rose plants.

The next place of visit is the Shimla Mall Road. It was constructed during the colonial times, and its architecture speaks about those times vividly. The Mall Road has all the main offices such as the municipal headquarters, the police station, the fire station, etc. There are a lot of different stores and places of shopping, especially a handicrafts store from where you can buy some amazing gifts for your family and friends. It is very much the main street of Shimla, and is located just a level below the Ridge.

The Ridge is the next place of visit. It is the Town Square of Shimla, where all the cultural activities of Shimla take place. It is basically a hub of all such activities, and all the main streets are connected with the Ridge.

The next place of visit is the Jakhu Temple, which is located just east of the Ridge. The temple is located at a height of about 2500 kilometers above the sea level, and worships the Hindu God Lord Hanuman. It is said that the temple is located at the same place where Lord Hanuman supposedly rested while on his way to get the ‘Sanjeevnibooti' (a magical herb) to cure the wounded Lord Laxman. It is a very famous place of worship for a lot of Hindus.

The next place to visit is the Himachal State Museum. The museum is again a colonial era building which has some amazing artefacts that you would love to see. Not only that, the museum visit would also give you a perspective about colonial Indian history.

The last palace which you would be visiting is the Summer Hill. It is not only a beautiful place but also a historical place where Mahatma Gandhi once stayed. The hill today is a beautiful tourist spot that is covered with pine trees and greenery. It also has the Indian Institute of Advanced Study located on the nearby observatory hill.

After you are done with your excursion in Shimla, come back to your hotel and stay there for the night.
Today, you will be having your breakfast in the morning and now, on the ninth day of your Golden Triangle and Shimla Tour, you will be boarding a train from the railway station and boarding the train back to the city of Delhi.

In Delhi, you will be stopping at the Kalka Railway station, from where you would again be checked in to a hotel, and staying there for the night.
